Boys & Girls Missionary Challenge

BGMC is the missions education program for children in the Assemblies of God. Kids all over America are on a mission – a crusade to help our missionaries. BGMC started in 1949 out of the Sunday school department. BGMC is now a part of the National Children’s Ministries Agency.

Purpose of BGMC:

1. Reach kids around the world for Christ
2. To create a heart of compassion in children

BGMC Vision Slogan:
Equipping kids to know, care, pray, give and reach the lost.

Missionaries need BGMC

BGMC is touching every area of the world by supplying our missionaries with the supplies and tools they need to reach out to the lost through evangelism and discipleship.

Missionaries desperately need to purchase supplies such as Bibles, tracts, Sunday School literature, library books and study books for Bible colleges, computers, printers, copy machines, video tapes, puppets, costume animals, clown supplies, sound systems, and lots, lots more!

BGMC also pays to have materials translated into different languages so people can read things in their own language. BGMC has had the JBQ program, Royal Rangers, Missionettes, Kids Church curriculum, and Sunday school lessons translated into many different languages around the world.

Kids need BGMC!

BGMC is more than a giving program; it’s also a missions education program. BGMC is equipping kids to know, to care, to pray, to give, and to reach the lost. Kids are taught about countries, people groups, and missionaries. Kids are also taught about the “lost” of the world and how important it is to be a witness. As you can see, BGMC is a great program for everyone!

Give your children the world…so they can give the world Jesus.

Give your children the world by opening their eyes to the colorful cultures, faraway lands, and special needs of people all across the earth. The Boys and Girls Missionary Crusade, BGMC, is a missions education program dedicated to teaching children about their brothers and sisters around the world and the world’s need for salvation. Best of all, each child’s training is accompanied by an opportunity for him to respond to the Great Commission through BGMC.

…so they can care for and share with the world

A different field of study is targeted every year-Eurasia, Africa, Asia Pacific, Latin America, the International Correspondence Institute and Home Missions-and the unique challenges and need of each area are emphasized. As children become aware of the problems of the world’s lost people, they are encouraged to assist missionaries in their ministries.

BGMC is perhaps the most vital link in passing along the missions-mindedness so deeply ingrained in our Assemblies of God heritage. Preschool and elementary age children are giving individual Buddy Barrel Banks and asked to bring a missions offering to church on missions Sunday each month. Through this simple means the pattern for a lifetime of missions stewardship is established.

…so they can give the Word to the world.

Since 1949, BGMC has worked hand in hand with home missions pastors and foreign missionaries to spread the gospel. Pennies, nickels, dimes, and dollars, given by caring children, add up to nearly $2 million annually and contribute greatly to the following efforts:

Home Missions:

  • Sunday school literature and hymnals for new churches in North America
  • Evangelism materials for outreach to college campuses through Chi Alpha ministries
  • Bible study courses for prison ministries
  • Taped and Braille books for the blind
  • Evangelism materials for intercultural ministries
  • Foreign Missions:

  • Translation and printing of Sunday School literature
  •  Translation and printing of Bibles
  •  Evangelism correspondence courses
  • Tapes for radio and TV broadcasts
  • Textbooks and library books for training national pastors in foreign Bible schools

  • Help your children respond to the Great Commission by encouraging their participation in Boys and Girls Missionary Crusade in your church!
